Forbidden Techniques

KINSHI-WAZA

In Kodokan Judo, there are a number of forbidden techniques. These techniques are banned from competition because they are seen as very likely to cause injury to an opponent. These forbidden techniques are known as Kinshi-Waza. They need to be understood if they are to be avoided in Randori and sporting forms of Judo, although they might prove effective in self-defence.
