WHO WE ARE

Dedication. Expertise. Passion.

All CJC Coaches are BJA qualified and certified, DBS checked and first aid trained. All are volunteers and profit only by the smiles they attempt to put on the players faces!

Lead Coach

Steve Evans

BJA Level 2 Coach; 3rd Dan (2020) Black Belt. Steve began Judo in London in 1986, instructing at the 61 Judo Club in Amersham before moving to Stroud in 2012, and has been coaching at Cirencester since 2013.

Chairman

Paul Whereat

Paul was Head Coach at Cirencester Judo Club for more than 25 years. In 2016 he 'retired' to spend time with his family as husband and grandparent. As Chairman he keeps a paternal and watchful eye over the club!

Richard Hale

BJA UKCC Level 2 Coach; 2nd Dan (2019) Black Belt. Rich has been with Cirencester Judo Club since 2011.

Stewart McIntyre

BJA Level 1 Coach; 1st Dan (2020) Black Belt. Stew is our Lead Club Welfare Officer, and has been active at CJC since 2011.

Kevin Mullins

BJA Level 1 Coach; 1st Dan (2023) Black Belt. Kevin is the most recent recruit to our Coaching Team and has been active at CJC since 2015.

Welfare Officer

Ash Bodey

4th Kyu Orange Belt. Ash is part of our Welfare Team, and has been active in Judo and at CJC now for 3 years.
